I am a fresher and I have to sit for placements from the this month and there are many companies coming for an HR position but I really can't make up my mind as to whether I shall sit for IT companies or Manufacturing comapnies?

There is no specific parameter mentioned on the basis of which I could advise you as to which would be better....

Anyways, the decision would depend upon your aptitude and your stream of graduation..

With your combination of qualification, you have two options with you. You can either go for an IT company or specifically an R&D centre of any manufacturing company...

i think IT would be challenging....compared to Manf.

Accourding to me manufacturing is more challenging.
And even manufacturing people get high packages based on their cadidature.
What is so special about IT?

The reason i prefer IT over manuf. is because the work Culture & work profile. I enjoy taking pressure when my Senior applies.....i enjoy working in IT Sector..

Since you have done BE Electronics you should go for IT Companies where you can use your technical knowledge in recruiting.

Hey mohan Culture & work profile you can get in a Manuf.company also.....it is not necessary that Work Culture in an IT company is the best....
I have work with both IT as well as Manuf. companies & both the companies have great work cultures.....

Thanks burhan for valuable suggestions, but I also have heard that IT companies provide a better work culture as compared to manufacturing and the remuneration in the IT companies is higher than manufacturing..........

If you are going to work as a HR then you should definately think twice before taking any decision about the industry.
This is because,as I think, being a HR in IT company is far easier than being a HR in manufacturing company. The people or candidates you will interact in IT indusry are more Sophisticate than the same in manufacturing. Specifically in case of recruitments, you really need to go down to the level of people who are working on shop floor to make them undestand thier profile,their work etc.
