Shortage of available candidates - Kindly advise
I am an IT recruiter working on certain niche profiles and I'm not getting suitable candidates.

Kindly advise as to what should I do.

Why don't you use online portals such as naukri.com, monster.com, ..........

Many a times we do not get suitable resumes on the portals also. Hence what to do at that time?????

Try creating a database of companies to headhunt from and get candidates from there..

I agree with sujay, why don't you take a list of companies from the technical people and get into headhunting.

Sourcing is a difficult area these days and if the requirement is specific and precise then it is all the more difficult.
You can use job portals and headhunting. Maybe these tactics will help you out.

The best way is to maintain your account on sites like Linkedin. Make good contacts there. Having such an account with wide and good network could be very beneficiary at such times.
You are able to see all the details of 1st degree contacts..like work-ex details,former and present company,role,recommendations if any and a lot more. Join groups which are related your requirements. You could even post your job requirement.With time build a strong network. Note : don't be dormant in such sites...let all know you are alive.
