Danielle 2008-01-23 07:22:19 Retention IssuesI am a Senior Executive HR in a US based IT MNC. We have recently started sending new joinees to US for training purpose as the training for this particular technology is not available in India. But we are facing a new problem of people leaving the company after completing the training programme. Please tell us what we can do to prevent the same. |
Bhakti 2008-01-23 10:00:22 Re: Retention IssuesFollowing measures can be implemented: 1. Keep the original certificates of the candidate. 2. Instead of paying full salary you can pay the candidate part of his salary while training and collect the remaining amount to be payed later. 3. Sign a bond. |
Ranjeet P. 2008-01-23 23:41:23 Re: Retention IssuesDear Ms. Bhakti, I agree to your suggestion. We have implemented one of the methods suggested by in our company at it really works.... Once the candidate joins our organization, we deduct a percentage from his / her salary, and tell them the same will be refunded after completion of on year of employment. We add the same in the appointment letter also. |
Burhan 2008-01-23 23:56:30 Re: Retention IssuesThere are many candidates who are ready to sign a bond as well as ready to pay an amount of 1000/- to 2000/- INR and also can submit their original documents...But according to me all these things should be cleared at the time of Interview itself....and also in the interview the interviewer should not ASK the candidate but should TELL the candidate, and then if the candidate is interested he can go ahead with the procedures..... |
Younus 2008-02-08 05:18:40 Re: Retention IssuesI believe you should take only those candidates who are ready to sign a bond of minimum 2yrs. and moreover get the bond signed by them before they are scheduled to leave. |
Shahbaaz 2008-04-11 03:40:06 Re: Retention IssuesD BEST WAY IS TO SIGN A BOND WITH THEM |
Viveka 2008-07-18 03:46:37 Re: Retention IssuesThere is no other solution except to make them sign a bond because when a new joinee undergoes a training his market value doubles and thus he always plans for a job change. |

Younus 2008-12-19 01:43:20 Re: Retention IssuesThe easiest thing to do is to ask them to sign a bond of minimum 1year after completing their training and also find out reasons as to why are the people leaving after the training. |
