Attrition - A Challenging Issue!!!


Attrition is a major issue faced by the companies these days. Attrition means employees resigning from their jobs for several reasons. Some of the striking reasons are:
1. Hike in salary.
2. Unhealthy work environment.
3. Lack of corporation among employees.

BPO's are facing major attrition issues. HR professionals have to fill the gaps by hiring new employees, they have to  select the right person with the qualifications required for the particular position. Attrition level in BPO's has reached around 40%.

Women employees increase level of attrition. They tend to resign due to marriage or may be because of the odd working hours. The company bears the loss, because they have to spend to get the individual trained. If the individual leaves the job immediately after the training, then it results in major loss for the company and it affects the progress of the company.

HR professionals are focusing towards different ways to retain employees, by offering them monetary benefits, and appraisals. HR managers also conduct several seminars and campus recruitments to overcome this problem.

Major costs are incurred because of attrition. Some small costs are not prominent while preparing budgets and management reports, still we have to consider the costs which are necessary.
