Role Of HR During Recession


During recession, the organization is like a ship, in very critical condition and the rudder is set in such a manner that the ship will either sail or turnover. HR put its best effort to protect the boat. HR professionals have to be very strong to protect the organization from recession, because they have to motivate employees through non-monetary tools. In such a situation, people feel insecure about their jobs. HR people cannot change the direction of the wind but can protect the organization from the bail by sailing safe. You should always remember that a kite rises against the wind that means it fights with the winds. Problem is the second name of life, so fight and win, don't give up. Otherwise you will never succeed in life.

Machines in the organization can give a maximum of 100% but human beings can go beyond that 100% and the organization can come back to normal or may go ahead in the field of competition.

During recession, common fear amongst all the employees is termination. The high performers are not rewarded for their performance and get nervous because of downsizing. They feel insecure in the company and look forward for their benefits, they don't care about the loss of organization. At the stage of recession, HR nurtures the organization and helps the organization come back to normal.
