Retention Of Employees


The process of retaining employees requires a lot of efforts by the company, but the outcome of these efforts is worth the efforts. Once the competition in the market increases, it becomes very difficult for the company to achieve the skills, talent and knowledge of the employee. It causes great pressure on the company if the managers give these same explanations for the low performance of the employees. The company then feels that they should stop the alteration of the employees.

Most of the companies are finding it difficult to retain their employees. It has been found out recently that the alteration of employees is about 4-5 times more than the usual salaries of the employees. According to a study carried out by a few business schools, the reason to about 80-85% of the alteration of the employees is the mistakes made during the process of recruitment. A professional of the HR must understand that alteration of employees is not a disease but its symptom.

The process in which the employees are asked to be with the company for a long time or atleast till the working projects get over.

There have been many changes in the relationships of the employer and the employee which has implied features, encouragement, and retaining of the employees. Retaining the employee is beneficial for both the employee and the company.

Today the process of globalization has given varied opportunities to the employees. The moment they feel that they do not want to work with the present employer and are not happy working there, they apply for some other job. Since good employees do not remain in the company, the company find it very difficult to retain its employees. As a professional of the HR, the manager should know how to retain its employees.

If the company wants to retain its employees, it has to contribute towards their development. In this the role of the employees has to be enhanced not only within the company but also in the external market.

The employees need to be guided so that their skills can be improved. Through this they are motivated towards their work and it will also increase their confidence and morale.
