Do\'s And Don\'ts – Telephonic Interview


Many people consider telephonic interview as very simple and just like a normal telephone call. Telephonic interview is equally important as other job interview. Because this type of interview can provide you with an opportunity to get your desired work place.

Do's

1.Make sure that your family members understand the importance of phone interview.

2.Cover letter should be written very clearly so that the interviewer do not find any difficulty in finding your contact information.

3.Collect some information about the company you are applying for before the interview.

4.Ask your friend to act as an interviewer and call you, in this way you can practice before the interview.

5.Check your telephone before the interview, check that you can hear and be heard clearly.

6.Sometimes you do not have sufficient time for telephonic interview. In case you can request to reschedule your interview.

7.Dress up properly in professional manner even for telephonic interview. So that you can feel same as job interview.

8.Attend the interviewer call at the place where you can give full attention to the interview, read and take notes. Keep your resume in front of you during the interview so that you can remember all the important points you need to talk to the interviewer.

9.Instead of relaxing on chair while talking to the interviewer, stand and talk to the interviewer because while standing you sound much more qualified.

10.The end of the telephonic interview is important, it is said that last impression is the best impression. The telephonic interview should end with applicable questions.

Don\'ts

1.Avoid all kind of interruptions like long greetings on your voice mails or answering machine.

2.Avoid eating, drinking or chewing gum during the interview.

3.Avoid coughing, sneezing or snuffling. If you are unable to avoid then just say “excuse me”.

4.There should be silence in the room you are attending the interviewer's call. Speak upto the point and avoid the topics not related to the job. Answer the qestions of the interviewer properly and after you complete your answer then you can continue asking your question to the interviewer.
