1.Improve your performance by talikng directly to your manager: Ask your managers what is the truth from arising situation. You are not suppose to make a rosy picture in front of manager. You have to know the truth. In such situation you can ask two question to your managers. First, what additional work would i do to improve my performance? Second, which area i need to improve myself?

2.Learn from jobs of other people: The best way to keep your job save during recession is to increase your value to your employer. If you alone can perform the work of two people, you have better chance to make yourself different from everyone. Let people know about your new job skills.

3.Be profitable: Find out what is the impact of your work on the company whether it is profitable or cut costs, or both. If you need help you can ask your co-workers, freinds, or even your boss. Let your boss know about the improvement made by you and your contribution towards botton line. This make your boss understand that how much essential you are.

4.Make you own performance: Arrogance are not appreciated by anyone, but saying nothing about your job performance and contributions not fair at this time. Your boss should know every step of your to move the company forward like delay in making the project, have a great call with clients, train someone about your new skills or improve your output. Your interest in doing hard work, attributes the managers to keep you.

5.Stand up and take command: You have some best opportunity to gather the left over pieces and move quickly into the management. When the departments are combined. Take the advantage of re-shuffled deck. This will be a great advantage to rise up because management will be looking for a new leaders to rule.
