Performance Appraisals For Employees Are Painful


The establishment process is almost very painful for all the employees. Judgmental seat is not comfortable for the managers. He knows he have to prove his opinion with proper examples when any staff member asks. He fails to provide feedback and often receives defending response from the employees. Hence, managers prevent giving honest feedback because it defeat the aim behind performance appraisal.

Disagreement about contribution and performance can cause a conflict situation that remains for the months. Many managers avoid conflicts that will threaten work place harmony. In today\'s team-oriented work environment, because it is also difficult to ask people who work as colleagues or may be your friends, to take a role of judgment.

Further compromising the situation, with the salary which increases numerical rating or ranking, the managers knows that he is limiting the hikes in staff members salary, if he rates his own performance less than outstanding.

If the approaches taken according to the traditional ways than it is very harmful to develop performance, trust is destroyed at work place, and discourage personal performance. However, the talents of HR professionals and managers are under utilize and they cannot perform their best in the organization.

Within such system, regular feedback is given to each staff members. Performance of individuals can be measured based on prioritized goals that accomplish the overall goals of the whole organization. The performance of your organization is assured because of focusing on developing plans and opportunity for each staff members.
