Instruction And Guidelines For Performance Appraisals


Performance evaluation is a constant process throughout the year, interview which is conducted annually with formal performance judgments. The intention behind this is communication expectations, gives positive feedback, accomplish documents, comparison between performance and expectation and develop performance plans.

Instructions

1.Performance appraisal are formed in two parts. Self evaluation should be done by the staff members and submit it to the supervisors. Forms should be complete by the supervisor and performance evaluation should be discussed in private meeting.

2.Within one week of the performance evaluation meeting, comments should be given by the staff members on the process to complete the last page of self evaluation and reply to the supervisor feedback from the meeting. The form should be signed by both staff members and supervisors at this stage. An acknowledgment of complete process is represent by the signature done at the bottom of the form.

3.Reviewer sign the forms which are completed.

4.Originally signed forms are sent to the office of human resources and will be filed in the personnel files. And there copies should be maintained by the supervisors office.

5.Follow up forms should be used by supervisors if an employees receives general evaluation. Followed by the evaluation forms should be use three to six months. To know the progress of employees.

Guidelines

  • Evaluation is not an isolated process, but it is based on ongoing performance.

  • Do not allow strong factors of employees performance to influence another factor which needs improvement. Or which is weak to influence the one which is outstanding.

  • Keep personal feeling away from the evaluation.

  • Creative comments are important elements of appraisals.

  • Give precise example to present your points.

  • Feedback should be given in the form of descriptive and informative, but not in judgmental form.

  • Personal information is contained in a performance evaluation and should be treated with care.
