In every organization there are two ways for running competitions. The first one is the organization activities towards its competitors. And the second goes among the leaders within the organization who have power against one another.
To get success in the second one, leader must not only perform well but they have to perceive to their bosses and colleagues that they do well. You need to publicize yourself.
As we step higher on corporate ladder,we need to blow our horn. And you should know how to do it. Here are some steps that you can follow:
Step-1.Recognize the field in your organization which needs to get better result. It is not just getting the right result, but you have to do it co-operating each other in the company. Get the permission of some responsible person to focus on that area.
Step-2.Put together all the team member whose aim is to achieve results. Assure that results will be achieved by the team. List the names of the member to join the team by giving them leadership sense. While forming the team, be careful about hard feelings that might come between and among the members and others in the organization which destroys the results. Team should not only be formed but it should be marketed. Both of these efforts require communication skills.
Step-3. Achieve the results. During the phase of horn blowing it is very critical to achieve and execute the targeted result. Make sure that you win. The purpose is to show others that your team is succeeding and than later go ahead for the bigger results.
Step-4.Publicize your results.This is the last step and the most important step. And it is followed by the few leaders. They must put their team together to win, but they hardly have any ideas to publicize their efforts.
