Continuous Improvement Through Empowerment

Control and authority means power. Empowering is transferring the responsibility and authority to the people below the hierarchy. Power is given to the delegated people and empowerment is about making people practice the power delegated to them in the interest of the company. Empowerment carry on by the way of ownership and it also control one\'s  job, and this comes out with continuous improvement.

Build the sense of ownership

If the employees are given importance and feel the sense of ownership, they exercise the power in the best interest of the organization. The sense of ownership can be build by creating passion in the employees about their job, to such an extent that he feel conscious for whatever he does in his job. Provide them with worthwhile goals and logics to pursue, because this help them to inculcate the sense of ownership. Inculcating the sense of ownership in the employees means purchasing the employees to the company\'s goals and values. It can be done successfully by updating the employees by all the relevant information, information related to their job and their role to improve the performance. Provide them with timely feedback in developing the sense of ownership among them.

Ensure people are in control of their jobs

Empowering people cannot be done by the ownership alone. Ownership is only the emotional element of empowerment. The practical part for exercising power given to the individual can be done only when you have control over the job for which an employees is responsible. Control over ones job can be done through the knowledge about that particular job. And the knowledge comes from experience and learning. One should learn all the relevant thing related to his job, he must be confident about the support from superiors.

Make constant improvement as your culture

If the sense of ownership is combined with control over the job of an employees, this help to provide continuous improvement, which goes on and on. Empowerment is the value of the company, to make the continuous improvement as a culture traits.

The role of managers is very clear in empowering the employees- they need to buy the employees for the value and goals of the company, provide clear information about their role, design structure channels for transmission of information related to job, process, company and business, this system encourage cooperation.
