Principles of motivation are:
Individual provide the motivation: Being a leader you cannot motivate other person because they are already 100% motivated for the work they are doing. Human being always make choices, and you create conditions to motivate others. This is not just a game, but a fundamental and effective shift in position that will result in great motivation and improved leadership of people.
People Motivate themselves: Think of some great energy and motivational activities. More motivated work have some payoff you will quickly realize that. In maximum motivated states we are rewarded by our personal needs being satisfied.
Perceived gain/perceived cost: A leader cannot control much over the mental structure of the people you influence, but you can understand them as over time and create conditions. But for such things you need to know them well. You must able to know their needs, fulfill their needs within the goals you have established.
The follower should understand the goals: Communication is the interruption of our own mind. In other words you can say, it\'s what they hear, not what you say. Hearing is always selective through past experience. Usually you have to shape important communication differently for different person about direction. So it is important to be clear in your direction and the reason why goal is important.
After sharing, make it understand by everyone. Involve the people in discussing about the goals you are presenting. This is about buying the people at high motivational level, meet their requirements to achieve the goals of the organization.
