The variety of activities performed by the Human Resources Management (HRM) like taking decisions regarding staffing needs. Whether to hire a new employees to fulfill such needs, recruiting and hiring best employees, they should be high performers, handling performance issues, and assures your personnel and management practices to various regulation. This activities also include employees benefits and compensation, record and personnel policies. Generally small business cannot effort part-time or full-time help, so they have to carry such activities themselves. They must assures that employees have the personnel policies which conform to current regulations. These policies are always formed in employee manual, almost all employees have such policies.

Some people distinguish a difference between Human Resources Management (HRM) and Human Resources Development (HRD). They must explain the Human Resources development including the wide range of activities to develop personnel within the organization for e.g, career development, training, organization development, etc.

Where HR-related functions should be organized in the organization is a long standing argument. For e.g, whether HR should be in the organization development department or any other place around the organization.

Since last few years HRM function and HRD profession have been changed tremendously. Recently, organization believe that the “HR Department” plays an important role in staffing and training.
