Etiquettes Followed By The Employees At Work Place


An employee spends maximum hours in a day at their workplace. So their behaviour at the work place reflects their character. Some common workplace etiquettes we should follow are:

1. Being punctual is very important for an employees. Its shows his/her respect towards work.

2. You should dress properly while going for office. It should be very decent, don’t dress like you are going for a party. Always try to dress according to the office code.

3. Always remember there is no place for gossips at workplace. Such habits can be hazardous to you, your team members and the company. So just leave such habits outside the company's door.

4. Always remember you should respect everyone at the workplace even if he is a peon or your colleagues.

5. Team spirit is necessary to achieve success. Talking too much and talking loudly should be avoided at workplace. If you want to be listened too, you must allow others to speak as well.

Etiquettes at office

Respect colleague having lunch: If employees are having lunch at their desk, then do not ask any work-related questions, wait for them to finish their lunch. It shows your respect towards them.

Check out your volume while speaking on the phone: Always keep your voice soft while speaking on the phone and walk out of office. No one is interested in your personal matters in office.

Convey thanks: Make it a habit to request by saying please and thank you after someone has helped you at work. Try to recognize your task and avoid failure as far as possible.

Grooming: Combing hair and other such activities should be avoided on the office floor. It leaves a bad impression. All such work should be done in the restroom.

Things to avoid in your cubical: Some people have the habit of placing their friends or relatives pictures at their desk. You should avoid such things as it shows you are a day dreamer. Always keep some good thoughts or simple pictures, which everyone likes.
