Successful Recruiting Through - Behaviour-based Structure Interviewing (BSI)

There are some mistakes in the old pattern of interviewing. First reason being lack of rules regarding the questions asked during the interview. Secondly, the interviewer gives into the similarities between him and candidates e.g.: same city or area they belong to. Sometimes the interviewer's opinion about selection of the candidate gets affected by these similarities. Interviewer’s decision should not be based on candidate’s presentation but on the company's requirement.

Keeping the above two reasons in mind a new method of interview is introduced i.e., Behaviour-based structured interviewing (BSI).This method is based on scientific derivation of skills and qualifications.

This new method of interview consists of some critical questions. Such questions help the recruiter in judging their candidates. Next step is to investigate about the job description. The major factors required for job analysis are:
1. Is decision making skill important for the job?
2. What physical skills are required?
3. Are social skills important for the job?

These questions help the manager to frame an essential job description and also help in making interview questions.

Interviewer can take his decisions based on behaviour of a given job. Each job has its own unique skills and qualifications. These questions help the recruiting manager to take the right decision.
