Job Description / Detail
At NDTV engineering you will be expected to be a part of a team that manages the entire newsgathering network that spans 23 bureaus all over the country. This covers all aspects of broadcast news from basic systems troubleshooting, new studio installations, multi-cam setups etc.




Upon completion of the initiation period, some of the areas that new engineering recruits will be expected to start working on are:


1. Television Engineering (Digital Video Systems and older legacy analog systems as well)
2. Satellite Communications
3. Telecom Networks
4. Computer Networks/ Automation Systems
5. Storage Area Networks
6. Image Processing/ Compression ( MPEG-4,H.264, WM9 wtc) and transmission over narrowband
networks
Some of the operating systems in use at NDTV are Linux, SGI Irix, SCO Unix, Windows, RISC OS,
MAC OS X etc.



Desired Profile
A few essential pre-requisites for the job are:
a) A strong academic background - 75% and above in B.E (Electronics & Communications).
b) Clear academic fundamentals in basic television engineering, IT and networking.
c) Excellent communication skills
d) Not more than a years work experience.

In addition to this, an MCSE or CCNA would be highly preferable.
